Virginia Symphony String Quartet

Formed in 2015 by members of the Virginia Symphony family, this quartet has established itself as an in-demand ensemble in Hampton Roads, calling themselves the New Commonwealth Quartet. In addition to presenting programs of cutting-edge music through Funhouse Fest, the quartet has also established a popular Sunday afternoon chamber music series at the East Beach Community Center in Norfolk, and recorded tracks for Bruce Hornsby. Next season they will be presenting recitals both locally and as visiting artists. The quartet members are VSO Assistant Principal Violinist Elizabeth Vonderheide, violinist Jonathan Richards, violist Matthew Umlauf and cellist Elizabeth Richards.

Co-presented with the City of Williamsburg, The Colonial Williamsburg Foundation and in partnership with Visit Williamsburg

Funhouse Fest is funded in part by the Williamsburg Area Arts Commission and the City of Williamsburg
